Planning a New Year’s Eve Wedding

What better day to celebrate love and a new start to life together than New Year’s Eve? Just think, all of your family and friends will be there to celebrate with you and, literally, ring in the new year with your new bling! It’s also a great excuse to get super glam. We have a few tips for hosting an amazing New Year’s wedding.

Start planning early.
Many of your guests will make New Year’s plans ahead of time, whether it’s traveling or hitting up a glitzy party. Make sure to send your invitations well in advance so that party will be your wedding. Go the extra step and talk to your close friends and family to make sure they’re available for the busy December 31st date. You should also consider that many venues will host their own NYE events and that other couples will be looking at this popular date, so make sure your dream venue can accommodate you and your guests. The competition is heated for a New Year’s Eve wedding but we LOVE performing for them–they’re always such a blast. If want to up the elegance with a live band for your entertainment (and trust us, you do!), lock in your band sooner rather than later.

Elevate your wedding decor.
When we think about New Year’s Eve weddings, we think flashy, fun, and bold–you really can’t go wrong with the theme! Think gold and silver, sequins and fireworks. Book a jazz trio to warm up the night, Gatsby style. Add a photo booth to your event so your guests can share their photos from your special day with NYE hats and glasses. Confetti shooters are also a big hit! Don’t forget the big countdown to midnight with a champagne cheers–love is in the air! Our MC can help by announcing the countdown and you can chat with us about which song you’d like to hear on the first day of the new year!

Prepare your budget.
Preparation and communication with your vendors and guests is key for any event, but especially on New Year’s Eve! Most vendors’ costs increase during the holiday season. Plus, many venues charge extra to stay open after hours–and you definitely want that midnight countdown. Keep this in mind when budgeting and make sure to ask your venue about their policy. If your guests are traveling, the cost of airfare and hotel stays are also likely to be higher. To let your guests make the most of the night, consider hiring a company to transport your guests to their hotel when the night is over. This will ensure safe travels in the early morning hours!

Have fun!
Some of our favourite event memories are from New Year’s weddings! The energy is amazing and the events are always elegant. The sentiment of beginning your marriage at the start of the new year is so romantic and special. You and your guests will cherish the memories for a lifetime.
